The first week of business.

Wow.

I am speechless.

Our business is taking off. I am so humbled and happy at the same time.

I am happy. We have had a number of orders in our first week. I still get excited whenever I see an order come through via email. To see your own ship navigating the ocean of business is completely disarming. The gravity of trying to honor my slogan of "Never Compromise Quality" is a task that I may have overlooked. We are utilizing some of the best equipment in the industry, although having limited resources to produce the quality (that I think is salable) is proving somewhat difficult. I am trying though. That is the humbling aspect.

I am trying my best to juggle a full time position and care for my new customers simultaneously. This is a tough compromise, because I love working as an electrician. I do. I enjoy the team effort and hard work. I am surrounded by men and women who take their work very seriously and refuse to half-ass it. True craftsmanship. Each person on the job site carries an air of integrity that is seldom found in the public sector. It is invigorating to be a part of such a distinct group of laborers who actually care about the quality of work they do. They must. It's an unspoken rule.

I am now tasked with choosing a fork in the road of my life that I have never had before:

Continue this wonderful journey of manual labor and carry myself with the dignity of a craftsman, or venture into the world of an entrepreneur and try to be successful in that endeavour.

Both are rewarding, but for very different reasons.

Until next time.
